These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Adrian Duardo (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the Star Cards mobile game for Android (package name win.starfleet.cards, the “Game”).

They should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of these Terms.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By downloading, installing or playing the Game you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Game.

You must be at least 13 years old to play, or at least 16 if you live in a country of the European Economic Area where 16 is the age of digital consent. If you are below the age of majority where you live, you may only play with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. The Game is not directed to children and is not part of the Google Play “Designed for Families” programme.

2. The service

The Game is a free-to-play online card game. It requires a permanent internet connection and a Google account to sign in; matches are played against other players or against computer-controlled opponents on our servers.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Game on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial entertainment. Any use outside that licence requires our written permission.

3. Your account

  • You need a Google account to sign in. Keeping that Google account secure is your responsibility, and you are responsible for everything done through your Star Cards account.
  • One account per person. Creating additional accounts to manipulate the ranking, farm rewards or evade a suspension is prohibited (see section 5).
  • Accounts are personal. You may not sell, rent, share, gift or transfer your account, and you may not buy or accept one from anybody else.
  • Tell us at aduardoyanes@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
  • You can have your account deleted at any time — see the deletion section of the Privacy Policy.

4. Nickname and player content

When you first sign in you choose a nickname, which is public to every other player. Your nickname must not:

  • be obscene, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or otherwise offensive;
  • impersonate another person, the developer, a moderator or an official Star Cards account;
  • contain another person's personal data, or advertising;
  • infringe anybody's trade mark or other rights.

The same rules apply to the names you give your decks. We may change or reset any nickname or deck name that breaks these rules, without notice, and repeated breaches may lead to suspension. Because nicknames are unique, a reset one becomes available to other players.

You keep whatever rights you have in the text you enter, and you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store it and display it inside the Game for as long as your account exists, which is what makes leaderboards and public profiles possible.

5. Fair play and prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • cheat, exploit bugs, or use modified clients, bots, macros, automation, emulator scripts or any software that plays for you or gives an unfair advantage;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to extract the source code or assets of the Game, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it;
  • access our servers or APIs by any means other than the official Game client, or build tools, trackers or services on top of them without our written permission;
  • interfere with the service — denial-of-service attempts, abusive request volumes, probing for vulnerabilities, or bypassing rate limits;
  • manipulate the competitive systems: match fixing, deliberate losing, rating boosting, sharing accounts or using secondary accounts to feed a main one;
  • abuse another player, or use the Game to break the law.

If you find a security vulnerability, we would rather hear about it than read about it. Report it privately to aduardoyanes@gmail.com and give us reasonable time to fix it.

6. Stardust and virtual items

There are no in-app purchases in Star Cards. You cannot spend real money in the Game. Stardust, the in-game currency, is earned only — by playing matches, logging in and completing missions.

  • Stardust, cards, cosmetic items, deck slots and any other virtual item have no monetary value, are not property, and are not convertible into money, goods or anything of real-world value.
  • What you receive is a limited, personal, revocable licence to use those items inside the Game. They are not transferable and may not be sold, traded or exchanged, whether inside the Game or outside it.
  • Cosmetic items are cosmetic. They change how things look; they never change the outcome of a match.
  • We may add, change, rebalance, reprice or remove cards, items and game rules, and we may adjust how Stardust is earned and spent, in order to keep the Game balanced and playable.
  • Virtual items are not refundable, and any balance or item is forfeited when your account is closed or deleted, whether by you or by us.
  • We may correct balances, rankings and inventories affected by a bug, an exploit or a mistake.

7. Advertising

The Game is free and is funded by a banner advertisement shown on some menu screens. There are no advertisements during a match. Advertisements are supplied by Google AdMob and we do not control their individual content; how advertising data is handled, and how to change your consent, is described in section 3.4 of the Privacy Policy.

Blocking, spoofing or tampering with the advertising component is a breach of these Terms, as is generating artificial advertisement impressions or clicks.

8. Availability, seasons and changes to the Game

The Game is provided as an ongoing service. We do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption or free of errors. We may take it offline for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control.

Competitive seasons close and reset on a schedule: at the end of a season your rating is settled, rewards are granted and the ranking restarts. That reset is part of the design, not a fault.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Game, and we may discontinue the Game entirely. If we shut the Game down permanently, we will give reasonable notice through the Game or this website where we can. Because the Game is free and virtual items have no monetary value, no compensation is due for such changes.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop playing at any time by uninstalling the Game, and you may have your account deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice depending on the seriousness of the case, if you breach these Terms — in particular sections 4 and 5 — or if we are required to do so by law. Where the circumstances allow it, we will tell you why and give you a chance to reply at aduardoyanes@gmail.com. Termination ends your licence to use the Game and forfeits any virtual items on the account.

10. Intellectual property

The Game and everything in it — code, artwork, card designs, names, sound, music and theStar Cards brand — belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms do not transfer any of those rights to you.

You may share screenshots, recordings and streams of your own play, including on monetised channels, provided you do not claim the Game as your own work and do not suggest we sponsor or endorse you.

If you send us feedback, ideas or suggestions, you grant us a free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use them without any obligation towards you. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential.

Android and Google Play are trademarks of Google LLC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Game will meet your expectations, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that progress, ratings or virtual items will always be preserved.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for loss of data, loss of progress, loss of virtual items, or loss of profit or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the Game.

Because the Game is supplied free of charge and involves no payment from you, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the Game is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us (which is zero) or EUR 50.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of the country in which the developer is established. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings before the courts that applicable consumer law makes available to you.

If you live in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection law of your country of residence still applies to you, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country. Before going to court, please write to us — most problems are quicker to solve by email.

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the invalid provision is replaced by the valid one that comes closest to its intent.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the Game changes or when the law requires it. The Last updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and we will give notice inside the Game before a material change takes effect. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, stop using the Game and request deletion of your account. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
